The history of this associated company dates back to 1876, when work began on the construction of the water supply network of the city of Zagreb. The grand opening was held on July 7, 1878 in the presence of dignitaries and numerous citizens of Zagreb. The then water supply system supplied water to 11,500 inhabitants.

The beginnings of the construction of sewers in Zagreb date back to the seventeenth century, when old documents mention the drainage canals of the settlements of Grič and Kaptol. The systematic construction of the sewer began in 1892 and developed in parallel with the development of the city.
